The Makers Shed

The Makers Shed approached us to assist them with creating a quality video for use on social media.
After speaking with them, about their business, I discovered the heart warming story of how it began. A gift from a friend.

The Challenge

This story was a perfect way to showcase Richards work. One of the challenges we had was that Richard is quite shy in front of the camera and was nervous about the process.

We worked around this by using the latest iphone to minimise the psychological impact of being filmed, and filming at a time of day when the natural light in his studio was at it’s best.

Filming without a tripod created a documentary feel for the video and allowed me to move quickly to keep up with him.

Richard was able to get on with his work without have to do second or third takes and had no time to be nervous, waiting for camera and lighting set ups.
I recorded most of the audio off camera, using the beautiful footage of him making his signature gumleaf broach, as overlay.

Testimonial

"Prue created the kind of video that we didn't think was possible for our artisan business. Working alongside Richard in his silversmithing studio, Prue captured a very heartfelt series of creative moments and the story behind them.
Our video was shot in a couple of hours, edited in a couple more and live on our Facebook page that evening. It's had thousands of views since our audience loves sharing it. This type of video was perfect for us and we're so grateful Prue made it a reality. We thoroughly recommend her skills as a filmmaker to businesses needing excellent social media content that engages followers".
